USA! USA!

30^th August 2011 – 1pm

So this is definitely not the best time to be attempting the first blog, but we’ve got some time to kill waiting for our last flight for the day. We’ve been up for 26 hours so far, and we’ve probably got another 8 before we can go to bed. We are really running on empty as we both didn’t get more than a couple of hours the night before we left. Was that yesterday? I don’t even know! Not to dwell, but I think I may be hallucinating.

The 14 hour flight from Sydney to LA was great, a piece of cake, but we were both glad when it was over. We both tried a couple of times to get some sleep but failed. Matt had an evening rum. It was evening somewhere in the world, but not where we were, it was probably an hour or two before they served breakfast. It was pretty nice flying in over LA this morning, we got an awesome view of the Hollywood sign. The city is so huge, we will probably need to hire a car to see everything in the time we’ve got here. 

We haven’t even left the airport yet, but we’ve noticed that Americans really do like the sound of their own voices! Hopefully it won’t seem so annoying after we get some much needed sleep. We are just about to board our plane to San Francisco.
